Hey...
I searched for an answer for that question all over the net and I didn't find any, and I even called microsoft customer service and they said it's impossible so I decided to bring my question to this forum. Before Approximately 2 months I deleted the program "Windows live messenger" from my system (Vista home premium 32 bit).
I don't remember if I selected to save the history (the conversation with my contacts), But now I can't find it on my computer so I guess that if there was a history it was probably deleted too.And to my question...
Is there any way I can restore those files? I don't have any "Saving point" of the system backup... and from what I've been told - after a month it's impossible to restore deleted files. Furthermore, I lately upgraded my OS with the service pack1 - could that become a problem? What if the history wasn't saved on my hard drive at the first place (maybe I selected that there wouldn't be history) - Is there any way to check if there was a history in this case? Can it be saved somewhere in the system files? I'm helpless, please, if you have any idea how can I restore files that may have deleted long ago, give me a hand here.
It is very important to me!Thank you.

There are "undelete" programs, but after this length of time, I doubt you could recover anything.
If the history was perhaps maintained somewhere, you could try reinstalling Windows Live messenger to see if you can then access the saved conversations.

If you saved the conversations, these files should be in a History folder and wouldn't necessarily have been deleted just because you uninstalled the software.
If you did indeed save your conversations, they should be in a folder named History, and the files would be xml files that start with the username of the contact, followed by some numbers, then the .xml file extension.
Just search your HDD for all xml files. If they're there good. If not, you're out of luck unfortunately.
Life's more painless for the brainless.
