I was looking at the router from my browser, and I noticed a computer named "mikey" attached to my network. This isn't one of my computers.
How do I tell if someone is riding on my wireless network. I'm running a netgear g-router in stock configuration.
And if someone is, how do I block them off?

Yes, you're being piggy-backed. To block them, you need to setup MAC address filtering, and possibly WEP encryption.

Hate to be sarcastic but people need to read the manual instead of just plugging these things in , out of the box yes they are wide open and anyone can attach to your network and use you bandwidth .

Implement a non default SSID on your router and wireless nic's and implement mac address filtering on your acess point , this will keep them off .

how would one implement mac address filtering? I don't see that option when I log into the router...Since I activated WEP, I'm having some trouble getting my girlfriend's latop on the internet. Even though she knows the SSID and passphrase, and it brings the key up on her wireless card...

ok got the MAC filtering working. It was under a strange menu to get into it. WEP is still being difficult.
