How do I determine if my router is sending out a signal
I think it may be locked
just hooked up a belkin router. All the lights are on and I succesfully but I can not network with a new Dell PC that supposedly can pick up the router signal
I tried to adjust the settings on the computer that is suppose to be receiving the network signal but it does not seem to recognize anything

First do an IPCONFIG to see if your router has given you an IP address (this is only if you have dhcp setup through the router). Next try pinging your router's ip address. In addition, make sure the green light on your nic card is blinking and the router. If not then you probably have a bad cable. Let me know what you get from doing these few things. Email me.

Can you be more specific. I assume this is a wireless issue. Some wireless router (not sure about yours) you can turn of the wireless broadcast. Have you been using the wireless side? Check your SSID, if it not set to broadcast, then you will have to configure it manually, or turn on the broadcast, then let windows take over, provided your dont have WEP/WPA enabled.
