I HAVE A WIN XP PC CONNECTED TO A LOCAL WINDOWS 2000 DOMAIN .I WILL BE ALWAYS LOGGING IN TO THIS DOMAIN AS I HAVE TO CHECK MY E-MAIL (EXCHANGE) AS WELL AS FOR INTERNET CONNECTIOS.

NOW THERE IS A NEW REQUIREMENT. I HAVE TO ACCESS A DIFFERENT NETWORK (WINDOWS NT NETWORK DOMAIN HAVING A TOTALLY A DIFFERENT IP SECHEME), WHILE LOGGED ON TO MY OWN DOMAIN TO RUN A SHARED APPLICATION FROM THIS NEW NT NETWORK. I HAVE ASSIGNED A SECOND IP ADDRESS FOR MY NIC WHICH IS COMPATIBLE TO NEW NT NETWORK. THE NEW NT NETWORK IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO OUR OWN WIN2K NETWORK THROUGH SWITCH . NOW I AM ABLE TO PING TO THE NEW NETWORK SERVER, BUT I CANNOT ACCESS THE SERVER AND USE ANY OF THE SHARED FOLDER THERE. IS THERE ANY WAY TO ACCESS THE NEW SERVER RESOURCES, WHILE LOGGED ON TO MY OWN DOMAIN..?

THANKS FOR HELP
GV

First off, hit your Caps Lock key and take off the all caps....it makes it hard to read and in "netiquette" it's considered yelling.

As to your problem, yes, you can connect from one domain to another but you would first have to establish trust relationships between the two separate domains. More info on trusts is freely available at microsoft's web site.
