Hi there,

Recently I have came across a problem between my Mini-IYX PC and my ATX PC.

It was working fine before, however now I am experiancing irregular packetloss from the ITX system. I have checked the ATX Connection with my laptop and no packetloss occurs, however no matter which device connects to the ITX system it experiances irregular packetloss.

The ITX system has a VIA Rhine II built in Ethernet chipset, and seemed to be working fine a few days ago and nothing has really changed system or filewise.

The packetloss has no pattern at all... it just occurs. I do a ping repeated 100 times and there will be about 7 times of missed pings at no regular interval.

Im using a crossover Cat5 cable and the ITX network settings are set to manual: 192.168.0.1 / SubNet: 255.255.255.0.

The ATX system gets its IP from the ITX system via the DCHP.

Any1 got a clue what the problem was?

Try a new cable sometime degragation in the cable can cause paket loss, or else try a new NIC.
