Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am taking a computer class and I'm trying to comprehend this ipconfig window.(see photo) A couple things that I don't understand are:
What is the ip address for this computer? Is it the wireless ip or the local area ip?
Also, why are there more than 1 DNS servers listed but my home computers only have 1 DNS server?
Thanks!

Depends on which network Interface you are using.

Technically the IP address is not that of your computer but the netwrok interface it happens to be using. You can have an Ethernet connection and a dial-up connection active at the same time then they both will have different IP addresses. However, Windows will only use one or the other, usually the first one it finds.

The PPP adaptor looks like a dial-up connection (PPP/SLIP) Point to Point Protocol/ Serial Line Interface Protocol)

Your Ethernet LAN connection is disconnected.

It is common to have more than one DNS server so in case one goes down there is an alternative. Without a DNS server nothing works. The DNS server Address on a home network is usually provided by your ISP.

Corporate networks may or may not have their own DNS servers.

All the 134.114.xx.xx IP addresses belong to Northern Arizona University who obviously have their own DNS servers.

1. Your local IP address is 10.1.228.203 from the Wireless Network Connection.

2. That computer gets the IP address, the DNS servers, primary and secondary Wins server information via DHCP.
So if there are more than one DNS or WINS servers in the network, the administrator can configure the DHCP server to assign such parameters for the workstations ip configuration.
Perhaps this parameters are necessary for the workstations to access the LAN and WAN, there are more than one DNS servers configured for reliability.
So if the first DNS server didn't work, the workstation uses the second DNS server to resolve domain names to ip addresses.
