Yes. Your IP address is your personal internet identity. Your IP address is automatically logged wherever you go and whenever you post. For more info, read the entire . . .

hi.thanks for ur reply..i know it does, but my question was..if anyone just tries to trace it back..isnt it secure for anyone? okay..coz I got threatened on the other day..we we discussing on an issue(dun wanna mention it again..I think I was rite)..but then..the person said that he will find out who I am n blah blah..well..i know the possiblity is very low..but just out of curiousity..is that possible..even tho the person owns the site.. the person can check up the header to find out the IP log..okay..
then it will only lead to the ISP I am using rite? or only the region where I am in? Can any experts give me some ideas..really appreciate it..

You've just became one of the few number of people who know it. Most are so naive especially with the transmission of offensive e-mails and postings.
FYI each site administrator have sworn to uphold your privacy or else they will be taken down by the legal arm. You shouldn't worry about it. If the adm at the other site is doing something tantamount to threatening you you know you do have recourse.

If an IP is known that doesn't mean your thoughts are being read. (OK overboard)
What I mean to say is your solution to help protect yourself online involves many many things. Even if someone has access to your IP address they know little about you. If you know how to protect your system and how you handle your personal data you would be much better off.
If you are a nut like me you own two computers. One is for online. I put all sorts of wrong info on it but I also protect it as best I can. The other computer has all my tax info, personal data, telephone numbers, ...you name it. That too is secured and has a regular backup.
There might be a case to equate a horse thief with an internet thief.
