IP conflict error in clients

Hi I have a winnt 4.0 running as pdc includes dhcp and wins in the same server. The problem is some times in my client pcs i will get a ipconflict error then i have to release and renew the ip address.It will work for some time and gain i will get the same error.when i check the DHCP scope in the server there is no conflict in the ip address. What could be the cause of this problem? Can any one pls advise me ..

make very sure that no PC's or other devices have a static ip. do you have any laptop users that infrequently plug into the LAN? is it allways the same PC?

There is no static ip in the PC and also same pcs are giving the ip conflicts. What could be the reason.
