Comment: lately my ping is high(about 120) when its usually 40-50. If I change my IP Adress would that fix the problem? Abit IS7 865PE Pentium 4 2.6ghz @ 3.2ghz eVGA GeForce FX 5900 SE Abit IS7 865PE Pentium 4 2.6ghz @ 3.2ghz eVGA GeForce FX 5900 SE

Reply: (edit)No. Ping is icmp traffic going and coming back. changing ip address is like thinking a red vw bug will be faster than a blue vw bug. Is the nic built in? might try turning off overclocking and see if your rate returns to expected.

Reply: (edit)Well the weird thing is..that before I had about 40 ping but about 20 k/sec download(Basic DSL). Now amazingly my DL speed is about 40 k/sec(2 times faster) but my ping is slower. could this be isp or just ip related? p.s i tried turning off oc still no luck Abit IS7 865PE Pentium 4 2.6ghz @ 3.2ghz eVGA GeForce FX 5900 SE

Reply: (edit)No wonder! Don't forget, the busier the server you're attached to is, the slower your ping rate will be. Your ping problem isn't related to your PC, it's the network and/or server you're attached to. The more people playing the same game at the same time on the same server, the slower the ping time will be for everyone attached to that server.
