Dear All,
I have installed Windows Server 2003 with2 NIC. One for the LAN Running 10.x.x.x IP and other for internet at 88.x.x.x IP. The problem is when I am setting the IPA it is assigning correctly. But when reviewing the NIC TCP/IP properties it is showing as "obtain IPA automatically" and IPA fields are shown empty. In the restart again the NIC s search for DHCP and ends in setting to erratic IPA. Please give a solution to this problem.

If you're statically assigning the IP and it's not taking, I suggest you uninstall, then reinstall your TCP/IP stack and try again. Do this on both NIC's if necessary.

You aren't perhaps trying to use the netsh command to configure the static IP are you? If you are, don't. Try inputting the IP info via the NIC property sheet.

If that doesn't fix it, this time keep your command prompt window closed and uninstall the TCP/IP stack via your NIC property sheet. Then reinstall and see if it doesn't work.

Dear Curt,

I am entering IPA through NIC propety sheet only. After applying the setting, when again viewing the settings all the fields are shown blank and the radio button for "Obtain an IPA automatically" will be selected. But the IP we have set will remain upto the next reboot.

Coming to your reply, how can I uninstall the TCP fom NIC Property sheet ?. That option is not enabled for TCP/IP. Please guide.
