Comment: The Instructions that came with my ADSL says I should Specify an IP address of 10.0.0.150 and a subnetmask of 255.255.255.0 if I do this I have no conection to the internet. If I then select "Obtain IP address automaticaly" I can access the internet But the computer hangs after a while. The computer does not hang when I have "specify IP address selected. I have 2 computers conected via a LAN Switch to a Alcatel Ethernet ADSL Modem. One computer (Old 300mhz running ME) is able to access the internet without any problems (using automatic IP)

Reply: (edit)You might find that the address of 10.0.0.150 is the address to access your your ADSL router to set it up, after which you should set your machine to obtain an address automatically. In the UK I have found ADSL routers with three diferent instructions for ip addressing in three diferent instruction sheets all int the same package (at times like that I wish I was a traffic warden). Good luck. Chris E
