IP Address Issue

Here's the deal. I frequent this forum, and yesterday I went there and it said I was banned. So I used a proxy and went and posted that I was banned.
They said that they had banned another guy posting from the SAME IP address.
This is not a proxy, this is my IP address when I'm directly connected to the internet. How the hell could someone post from under my IP address?
Nobody else in this house even browses forums, the only one who uses computers even is my Dad, and that's just for eBay.
Does anybody have any idea how this could happen? This is really strange...
