Hi all, We have some 40 numbers of PC's in our LAN and using win2000 server and pro as a operating systems. Some 15 systems are connected with one hub and other 15 systems are connected with other Hub. whenever i configure the Network properties for any machine in the LAN a particular machine is getting the message IP address conflict( Note the machine is not a server machine).Other machines including server is not getting the IP address conflict problem. How can i solve this problem?. Please help me. Thanx in advance. Bala.
Sounds like a weird problem. I guess that you ARE using a unique address for this machine? No other machine on the networkl has the same address, does it? Try pinging the address you are trying to apply to this machine from another machine that does not have address conflict errors. If you cannot PING that IP address, then it should be available. Open up a command prompt, type in ping X.X.X.X (IP address) you are trying to use and see if you get a response. If you do not, I suggest you uninstall the TCP/IP stack from your PC, re-intall TCP/IP, on that machine ping 127.0.0.1 see if that gets a response, then try reapplying the address you want to that NIC. If that IP address is not able to be ping'd then more than likely it is available, and your problem is withinh either TCP/IP on that machine, or faulty NIC drivers, or card.

Hi, Give a static address to that pc for one or two days and then change it to dhcp. It will work, Sometimes server assigns the same address so it conflicts.
