Comment:

I had the mother board fail on my E-machine so I purchased the exact same model and put my old drive in the "new" machine. Now I'm getting the message "IP address conflict" and the machine locks up. Is there a fix for this?

Resolve the IP address conflict by disconnecting the computer from the network or by getting the computer to use another IP address which doesn't have a conflict.
