I have a situation that recently developed. I am set up with cox.net with two computers via a router. It has worked well for years, but recently we will lose internet connection and the only way to get it back is to disconnect the internet cable from the modem wait 30 seconds reconnect and then we can get the internet connection back. Cox says sometings is wrong with our router. Does that make sense? thanks

Remove the router from the configuration for awhile. Then see if your connection drops. Cable companies are famous for blaming YOUR equipment.
Also make sure the two computers have different names and different IP addresses.
Rule #1 Good computers don't go down. Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.
