Hi guys, I have asked a question in another thread about my internet disconnecting, which thanks to you lot i figured out whats causing it(although not WHY its causing it). But i have another question. Usually when i check my connection speed i get about 1.6-1.7m (meant to be 2meg line) which aint bad. However sometimes it drops as low as 3-400k. This is a pain especially if im playing games online as it results in my ping going through the roof and i get kicked from the server!
Is there any way i can find out why its dropping? Is it possible to find out what is actually accessing the net on my pc in case there is something running in the background i dont know about.(virus scan is clean)
sorry if these are basic questions but i am pretty clueless about this stuff.
Cheers
Davie

It isn't always an internal issue that affects your connection speed. Could simply be heavy traffic on your ISP or between you and the gameserver. All you can do is check taskmanager when the slowness is evident and see if there is any internal process running that might be hogging your bandwidth.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
