Hello all
I am currently having problems with my Netgear MR814 Wireless 4 port Router and / or my internet connection.
My PC is hard-wired to the router and so is the Cable modem.
The internet works perfectly at most times, however it occasionally (roughly twice a day) will stop working and the only way to resume functionality is by disconnecting the power to the router and re-connecting it.
Any idea what is causing these frustrating timeouts???

I don't like to put down any brand of router , but I have always had problems with netgear routers that are designed like the MR814 and the RP614. Every one that I have ever tried I have had the same problem. I will only use D-link or Linksys.

I would try this , save your current config to disk . Then default the router in the config , reboot the router ,let it come up then go thru reinstalling the config again and reboot , I have seen where something gets hosed up and doing this seems to clear up a lot things like speed issues etc.... Something easy to try .
Summary: We are using a Netgear MR814 802.11b wireless router to share our ADSL connection over 3 home computers (all Windows XP). Two of the computers (the host and a laptop) can access the internet perfectly...
Summary: I have a Netgear MR814 that a friend gave me, but he does not have the installation CD that came with the wireless router. I suppose that I can't get it to work without it? (I've tried - no success)...
