Comment: Having trouble figuring out why I cannot reach download speeds of 12mbps when I'm paying for turbo. A Tech came to my home a went through everything. My PC will only reach 7mbps. He plugged in his laptop and was able to achieve 12mbps. Said the problem was in my PC some where. Anyone with any ideas? Is there a program or something in my PC that wont allow this speed or I'm I getting ripped off? Scott A. RSVP

Reply: (edit)Try a live linux cd to start. Pop in Knoppix and go to a internet speed site and try again. Might start with taskman or perfmon to see the actual specs. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
