Is it actually possible to use the internet connection sharing feature on Windows XP? I have been trying to do this with an XP computer and one running WIn 98 and have had no success. I am now thinking of just buying a router to get them connected.

How are you connecting the machines together?
Yes it is possible but the xp computer will have to remain on all the time for the 98 computer to access internet.

A router would fe the easiest and most convient.

Just setup this at home - The xp connection sharing works pretty well just setup the xp end as per the wizard and then set the connecting client to dhcp.. It will pick up all details from that i.e gateway and ip address
