Comment:

I have 2 laptops installed with WIN XP SP2 and a cable broadband connection. I login through web based 24 online client cyberoam and do not need any modem.

I made a setup on one of my laptop to connect internet wireless using DIR-300, i made setup in Static IP as my ISP has given me IP Add., Subnetmask, Default Gateway and DNS. After connecting my router, I then open 24 online client to connect to my ISP using username/password.

I want to use internet on my second laptop also, but i dont know how to make setup for it and also if i can connected with both laptop at a single time.

Please help me out.

What you write doesn't make a lot of sense.

Modem converts cable signal to rj45.
Your statement " do not need any modem" has nothing to do with logging into the system and gaining internet access

I take it the "DIR-300" is a Dlink wireless router? Helps to include all the information.

"I then open 24 online client to connect to my ISP using username/password."

This sounds like a pppoe connection in that you have to authencate to the isps server before the isp lets you on the internet.

You need a router that supports PPPoE and its logon information on the wan interface. Your router has to do this authenication not your laptop.

Perhaps this link can shine some light on the issue for you

Hey, thank you for replying... i tried doing with PPPoE, but the status is showing offline...

is it because there is no option to put in Subnet Mask and Default Gateway? There it is just asking for IP address and username/password
