I'm looking to connect three computers together but there's a problem with it.
I have a host computer with a permenant internet connection which does nothing other than sit there online. Two clients run off it via a hub and I'm looking to share the internet connection.
All three have clean installs of Windows 2000 and I followed the instructions given which were to install a NetBEUI Protocol on the host and to share the connection. The clients are set to automatically obtain IP and DNS settings and have no NetBEUI protocol installed.
When the host dials up I receive an error saying the TCP/IP protocol worked but the NetBEUI one didn't - Error 733, the computers couldn't agree on PPP control protocols.
Searching for a solution gives only to disable "Negotiate multi-link for single link connections" on the host, which I have done, but it doesn't help.
Can anyone help me with this?

This error is because Microsoft does not allow netbuei for R.A.S. Netbuei is also noroutable so you should avoid using it completly. to solve your problem, you can choose which protocols to use for dial-up. Deselect netbeui and use tcp/ip only for dialup. also if this still gives you the error, remove netbuei and use ipx/spx(netbios).
