Internet Sharing Between XP & OS X via 3G

December 13, 2010 at 10:07:10
Specs: Windows XP
I have a Windows XP PC with internet access via a Huawei E169 3G USB modem and wish to share this internet with a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.4 by using the WiFi feature of my 802.1b Speedtouch 570 ADSL modem router by connecting it to the PC via a ethernet cable. May I know how to configure it please?

The easiest way is to install Wireless Adaptor on the XP PC and set up Internet Connection Sharing:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126

Then set up an Ad-Hoc Wireless Connection between XP and MacBook Pro:

I do not believe the Speedtouch can be used in this situation..

Thanks X86, for highlighting to me the SpeedTouch will not work in this setup. Think I'll need to perhaps get this router : http://www.aztech.com/prod_3g_hw550...
