Hi, I have an Internet Connection on a Win 98 computer and I have a hub with 2 other Computers connected sharing the internet and sharing resources on the Internet. I have a laptop I want to connect running Win XP. Is this possible? Alos I have another Win 98 computer I want to connect to the network to share the Internet as well but not be able to see the other computers on the network. Is this possible. If I remove Client for Microsoft Networks in the Networking area will this do the job? Thanks Glenn

I'm not an expert but I don't think there will be a problem networking computers with different versions of win, you better wait for others to comment on that. However if you want to hide the other computers from one, isn't it better to set a password for the shared folders (you can do that if you are running win98). I'm saying that because if you want to protect your data by only hiding the other computers anyone can configure the computer to make them visible. However there is a safer and more expensive way and that’s getting a route. You will have your hardware firewall and by installing a simple software firewall you can block the IP address of the computer in the network that you do not want to have access to your other computers.
