So a few days ago my girlfriend turns on my computer to find that the internet says it's connected properly to the wireless router in the house.
We try to open a webpage on Firefox and get nothing. Same for explorer.
Both of the other machines in the house connect to this particular wireless router just fine.
I reinstalled the software for the USB wireless adapter, and still have the same problem.
How do I get it to work? AND
Would reformatting the hard-drive fix the problem?

use nslookup to try resolving the URL/domain name, see whether it works.. Suspect it's domain resolving issue. If not, you can try to use following free DNS servers provided by OpenDNS:
208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220
Hope it helps..

decended,
Are you able to ping your wireless router from this PC ? Furthermore, are you using DHCP to get an IP address ? Try "IPCONFIG" to look for you IP address.

Yes, definitely try IPCONFIG before you even think about reformatting your HDD. Chances are there is something with your internet connection that got messed up, was accidentally changed, etc.
So like HelpingGuy123 said, go to Start - Run - Cmd and then type in "ipconfig" without the quotes. Post your results on here.
