You have not given any details on what kind of internet connection you use, nor on how your LAN is configured.
eg, do you use a router or are you using ICS.
Are you on dialup, cable/DSL or wireless modem?

Simple test. Ask your friend to log out of the poker site and see if your performance improves.

When running on wireless the signal strength can be one cause of slow performance. How far from the router is your system and is there anything in the vicinity that could interfere with the signal, such as solid walls, cordless telephones etc?

Go to the command prompt...

- Start
- Select Run
- Type CMD

Then type the following commands...

IPCONFIG/ALL > Config.txt
PING YAHOO.COM -n 25 > Ping.txt
NETSTAT > Ports.txt

Then goto Notepad or your favorite editor. Open these files. They should be located on your "C:\Documents and Settings\yourname" directory.

Put the contents into a reply.
