Hello lately my internet has been going crazy. When i try to download even small files or load certain websites my internet decides to just basically die. For example if i am downloading a file it will be downloading at 500 kb/sec or so then after about a minute the DL speed will just start dropping and eventually hit 0 kb/sec and even though it says the internet is still connected and the signal strength is displayed at very good; no internet pages will load and the file will just stay at 0 kb/sec until i either click repair the wireless connection or turn off the wireless switch on my laptop.
I am guess either something is conflicting with my IP address or my DNS Server.

Thanks

yeah i read about the smurf attacks and i highly doubt that is my problem. My internet works just fine until i try loading large pages or download files. So maybe i am maxing out the bandwith or something idk..

Smurf attacks :) lol...

Sounds like your having latency issues. Got to broadbandreports.com and run some speed tests. One test will tell you nothing, run several to various locations. Run them over various times of day. Report your finding with your ISP technical support desk and see if there is anything that needs to be improved based on your package/speed.

Good luck,

J.

yup i did do some tests on tat site and i think i fixed my problem. One i needed to update my firmware on my wireless card and two i also changed the TCP to allow more bandwith so i havnt had nearly as many problems since i did these things
thanks for the help tho
