Comment: i got an annoying problem. i am using DSL now. every time after i connected to the internet, the connection disconnect every 15-20 mins. the DSL light on the modem is off(if the DSL light on the moderm is off, that mean no connect), then back on in every 2 mins. its endless cycle. if i dont connect to the internet, the DSL light on the moderm is always on. i ran spybot search and destroy, it didnt find anything. any idea? 3.2GHZ Intel Pentium EE 840 1GB Dual-channel DDR2-533 RAM Asus P5ND2-SLI Deluxe mobo 2 EVGA E-Geforce 7800GTX Creative Soundblaster X-Fi 550W PSU

Reply: (edit)its possible that you have a "disconnect when idle" setting clicked yes somewhere. This could be in the modem's settings itself, the dial up settings, or the browser settings. (there might be others, but those are the ones I know of.) Hope that helps! George Please respond after you have solved your problem to notify who helped you and what solved the problem. Both sides benefit when you do.

Reply: (edit)i had almost same problem when i setup DSL first time. check all filter on all phone jacks. it could be "noise" on the line, also no filter to the line that feeds the computer/modem/router--not sure how your setup? some times its the simple stuff that get you. hope it helps
