Good morning one and all,

I've encountered a strange issue that cropped up yesterday. I was having issues connecting to a number of sites. Some worked, a lot different. It would just time out on the connection and I would just receiver the every annoying 'Problem Loading Page'.

So I went the steps I know of trying to fix it. I tried restarting my connection from connecting the router. I've tried on different laptops in the household to make sure it wasn't just my computer. I've tried shutting the router down and restarting it.

All to no avail. I left it for the night, in the hope it was just a weird problem that would fix itself over night. Unfortunately, the problem remains today. What is probably most annoying is, that the majority of sites which I can't access, are the ones that I usually check in on.

So if anyone has any solutions, I would be much obliged.

If the problem happens on only one PC/laptop in your network then it's likely to be that unit.

If however the same thing happens on more than one unit in your network then the problem is either a DNS issue or possibly a problem with the web site(s).

Are any of the laptops/PC's in your network able to go to those particular sites properly? If yes, compare your TCP/IP settings on that unit with the ones that won't. To do so, open a command prompt window and type the following command:

ipconfig /all

The only setting that should be different is the actual IP address. The DNS, Default Gateway and Subnet Mask should all be the same.

No, it seems to be a problem throughout all computers connecting on the network, both wireless and connected via ethernet cable.

I had thought that maybe some sites were down - but the chances of obscene amount I can't access rung the alarm bells.

I'm wondering if perhaps it is just issues with the local connections here in Ireland - and that given that it's a weekend, nobody is going to fix it until tomorrow at the earliest.
