hi!
my friend has installed a fresh copy of
windows and now he cant acces to the
internet!
i have installed all drivers for
motherboard. in network connections there is
just lokal area connection (adapter
communicates with modem but there is no
further connection. i think that he has no
connection because 1394 network connection
is missing.
see this picture from my computer: http://shrani.si/f/2w/lJ/2LpXnCts/n...
connections.jpg

my friends computer configuration:
OS: windows xp pro sp2
MB:GIGABYTE GA-P31-DS3L
link:http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Moth
erboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2615
it seems that one network connection is
missing (1394 connection).
what to do?

sry for my bad english

The connection is there. Disable the Firewall. Then run ipconfig and post the results. How are you physically connected? dial-up? DSL?

today i bring his computer to my place and i
try with my internet connection. it is
working just fine! so the problem was not in
computer but with the cable connection at my
friends place. his neighbour has dsl
connection. and right now my friend is
connected directly to his modem. it is
possible that is problem with modem
(settings)? it is better to connect to
switch or router?
