internet explorer error

when i open internet explorer i get the "cannot display page" error...then when i type in an address it says "explorer could not open the search page"...but if i go to one of my folders and type a address it goes to the site...any ideas on this problem?

Sounds like a Browser Hijacker.
Run CWshredder.exe directly first and see if it finds a problem.
Then reboot and download, install, update and run SpyBot_S&D and remove any items it finds.

I have a similar problem. But mine is a little bit different that when i enter something in the URL box and hit the "go" button, i am directed to a search page. with my previous computer, it was some overture search page. this time, it's perfectnav.com ... it's very annoying. if anyone can help me, please, i beg you, do.
