I had a network set up quite long ago with a Win XP pc serving as a dial-up pc which all the other pc's on the network connect to the internet with. Recently my WinME computer screwed up (some DirectX 9 problem) so I had to reinstall WinME. After doing so, I realized that the Internet connection sharing wasn't working on my PC anymore. I open up msinfo32 and in the components->problem devices folder, there is a problem with Internet connection Sharing with Error Code 2.
Please advise, Thank you all very much.

So is the XP or ME sharing the connection?
There really isn't much to sharing in windows. Its quite simple... just setup 1 PC as the server (sharing the net) and the other ones can't have that installed.
Sometimes with the pre2000 systems I had to reinstall the drivers and ICS and it worked.

Computer A: XP machine serving ICS
Computer B: Me machine using Comp. A as an ICS gatewayComp. B had a problem, so reinstalled Me.
Now Comp. B has a problem with ICS.
I know it is a really simple procedure, I've set up all the other PC's on my network quite easily. But after I reinstalled my windows, ICS just did not work anymore. Other comps on the network are not affected, and my comp's other network functions are all normal. I'm suspecting that something in my windows is corrupt, but a reinstall can not fix it....
I'm quite sure that if I do a reformat and a clean install, the problem would be gone, but I'm looking for a fix without the reformat hassle.
Thanks for the input
