I used to use ICS to access internet for my 2 computers at home. After I install one software VMware, I got problem with my ICS. So I uninstalled VMware. However, the error remains. I reinstalled both my NICs and try to set the first one as internet connection sharing, I got an error: The Lan connection selected as private netword is either not present, or is disconnected from network.... I tried to search the whole wetsite, or related Forum, actually, there is some guys post this error before on this group, still I can't find any feasible solution for it. I would appreciate if anyone could offer me some help. Thanks in advance, Richard

It might help if we knew what Nics you were using. example.. ME does not fully support the Netgear FA310TX 10/100 card. when using it to share a ICS, my PC would perform not just a fatal exception error, but a windows protection fault, only way round was to knock out the network VXD's. However, using the netgear to go to the cable modem and a different nic to share the ICS caused no probs. Make sure there are no issues like that :D
