Internet connection sharing between 2 W7 PC

July 15, 2011 at 12:05:34
Specs: Windows 7

I newly installed win 7 in 2 pc's. I had used the internet connection sharing when I had Win xp installed in them before. So I gave the static IP address,192.168.0.1 to the pc with the internet connection, and had the other pc obtained the IP address automatically. File sharing works fine, but somehow the 2nd PC could not be connected to the internet. When I checked its connection details, the Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address was 169.254.224.63. I think this IP address should be something like 192.168.0.xxx, but it's configured to auto, so I can't really do anything right now. Pls tell me what to do now. Thx in advance.

assigning a ip address does not engage internet connection sharing.

host pc has to have two network interfaces btw. one to the internet and one to the other pc
