The OS of my laptop is Windows Vista Business. In my home I access internet through wireless Linksys Access Point. My laptop is configured under "Alternate Configuration" to connect to the AP through static IP address. Since the last few days the internet is not getting connected and I get the following message - "The following policy might need to be adjusted to allow Windows to connect: Policy Provider: Windows Firewall Filter Name: Query User If the policy provider is Windows Firewall, click for information about adjusting Windows Firewall settings. If a different policy provider has been identified, check the provider’s documentation on how to adjust the policy settings." In addition to Windows Firewall there is Outpost Firewall also installed on my laptop. I have tried a lot to change the settings under LAN but without any success. More interestingly, when the TCP/IP setting of the adaptor is set under "General" tab instead of "Alternate Configuration" the internet gets immediately connected to the laptop. As I also sometimes connect through a diffrent wireless router for which it is required to set the TCP/IP of the laptop to "Obtain an IP address automatically" I need to set for the access point throgh "Alternate Configuration" only. Please help to resolve my crisis. Thanks.
