I've been using BitComet for a year now, and up until yesterday everything has been fine. Everytime I download something, it stays stuck at the current state and DOESN'T move at all! (Ex: 90.2% for about 4 hours) until I finally close the program. While I'm running BitComet, my internet drops and doesn't load anything at all until I close the program. The PC light on the Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem (Orange light) blinks off and on fast, and drops the connection. It hasn't been this way at all! Help please!

pgckkwvdzm,

Once again explain your rationale for the suggestion! How can you speak with such certainity that it's the modem?

He can't. It may be a bad modem, but probability says that you would notice connection problems using other things on the Internet, also. It may be a software issue where soemthing has gotten corrupt, or maybe even a corrupt cache file (like a temporary file) in BitComet that got corrupted along a certain way. I don't know BitComet, but try finding out if it has cache files and delete then, also delete your system temp files, too. (You can try using Disk Cleanup in Windows XP.) But it could also be a hardware problem with memory or a bad spot that's developed on the hard drive.
First try cleaning cache and temp files and reinstall BitComet too if that doesn't work.
