Hello People.
I spent ages setting up what I thought would be a simple XP to 98 network, how I was wrong =(.
Anyway, I got file sharing and everything working....... Until I realised I couldn't share files, use microphone or any of the features on msn.
I am using a WIN 98 to WIN XP crossover network.
-Protocols installed on both machines are TCP/IP, NETBEUI, Internet Connection sharing.
-Using client for microsoft networks.
-Host is the WIN 98 computer.Everything works apart from this.... =(
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me before on the forum.
Can anyone help???
Thanks in advance.

Do you have the file and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks Service installed too? The service in not the tab you check below your list of services, protocols, and adaptors. To get it you click add/Service/Microsoft/ file and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks. You shouldn't need NetBeui unless you want to 3.11 later.
Typically for windows pc's the properties of Network Neighborhood should have the following
Client for Microsoft Networks Service
Your Network Card Adapter
TCP/IP Protocol
File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks Service
Identification the same workgroup helps and file and print sharing have the appropiate ones checked. This works for my 95/win98/98se/2000 pro and xp setup. Without netbeui that is.
