i have 2 computers attached to a hub that is attached to dsl. both computers can surf the internet, but can't see (or even ping) each other. the internet can see both of them fine. they both get their ip from the isp thru dhcp. anybody have any idea why they can see the internet, but not each other? and maybe how to fix it.

Do you have a router between the hub and the dsl modem?

no router, just the hub linked directly to the modem.
