Installing programs over a network

I was wondering how I would install a program over a network. My idea was to install it on this pc and then copy the files and modify the registry on the other computer to get it to work. Any ideas of how to get it to work without making registry edits?

Why not just try and install via the network-ie run the install routine from the remote system?
