Okay, here's the problem. I setup the network, it got the IPX/SPX protocols working beautifully, all of it is in working order. There's only one problem. With my computer, I can do diddly squat when I go onto a page with broken links. Certain pages, like Yahoo! and hotmail are getting broken image links like crazy. However, on the other machine, with is an ME machine, it runs like a leaf on a pond. No problems, no worries. I hate it. Help, please? I'm really stressed, and I don't need this problem slowing me down.

I'm well aware, I'm simply stating that everything was working fine before I switched from a 3Com Ethernet Smart hub to a D-Link 604e Ethernet Router.
Skip the lousy bits and routine "troubleshooting"
-Security settings were changed and defaulted
-IE settings were changed and reset again
-Router was changed and reset againAll those were done. I tried configuring the connection differently, tried making sure that IE couldn't connect without the LAN connection. Everything is as it should be except my computer doesn't want to show images on a page that looks on a another server.
Does anybody understand at all?

like you were told.........
IPX/SPX is the wrong protocol for internet access. 2 things here:
1.) be sure you have TCP/IP at least installed on the computer getting the garbled web pages.
2.) be sure that TCP/IP has a higher priority {be sure its higher in the list of protocols} than IPX/SPX if step 1 did not fix it.
and concerning the change you made from the hub to the router.
1.)hubs broadcast.
2.)routers segment which allows them to read the packet information. your problem could well reside with the router trying to route IPX/SPX packets to the internet and you not having the appropriate protocol installed to understand the packets properly. research the OSI model.
as for the "Skip the lousy bits and routine "troubleshooting"". i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and guess that you've tried a different cable, port on the router and the NIC itself? have you at least tried to ping the other computer or an internet site and look for packet loss? you might allso want to try to ping your loopback address {127.0.0.1} and look for packet loss there too, it might tell the card is going bad.
good luck
AJ
PS. why are you running IPX/SPX anyway?"ye of itchy azz hole, have stinky finger"

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?
I'm using IPX/SPX for NETWORKING! I'm using TCP/IP for Internet. I run a D-Link 604 ethernet Broadband router, Windows XP, and my problem is that my computer cannot and will not see the servers that have the images on them.
Stop asking about the IPX/SPX, because it's not the problem!!!
