I have to fix a laptop. It is a Core 2 Duo of some description and came with Norton 360 but that was uninstalled using Norton Removal Tool. Now for some reason when you try to load a page with Internet Explorer 7, it takes ages to load. To get out to the internet we need a password. So I type an address, it takes 5 minutes then pops up with the authentication box, enter it and then wait. Takes absolutely AGES! We have other computers on this network and they don't take long (running same OS & browser too). The problem is not: - CPU usage (checked with task manager) - Memory usage (checked with process viewer) - Actual network connectivity (can connect REAAAAALLY SLOWLY) I'm out of ideas. Anyone help?

IE only. Installed Firefox and that works fine. Still I would like to know why IE broke.
