why does my stupid internet connection not work half the time? my temporary system is connected to my DSL internet through an ethernet wired connection, but half the time when i am browsing the net my "page cannot be displayed". sometimes if i refresh it shows, somtimes it doesn't show until i close and reopen IE. it is getting very aggrivating. this is actually my third attempt to post this message! please help!

Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours.

I suggest you contact your service provider for help. The problem may be at their end or it may be a settings issue, either way they should be able to give you advise specific to the connection you are using.

do you have a router? if so, make sure it is set up exactly how it says in the instructions, sometimes doing things wrong may cause other things to malfunction. if it is connected exactly as instructed, try connecting your system directly to the DSL modem, not through any other devices. If this solution works, then your problem might be in the router (if you have one). if it still doesn't work, then you might have a problem with the DSL modem and/or your ethernet adapter.

I'm not sure if this would help, but try reinstalling the drivers for your ethernet adapter
