Comment:

I have two pc's running WIN98SE and successfully installed and run ICS without problems. Now I'm trying to do the same for a friend, but without success. The host PC is running WIN98SE and the client PC is running WIN2K PRO. ICS successfully installed on the host, but the client comes up with DNSERROR when trying to access the Internet. The two machines have no problem seeing each others hard drives, so the local network link is fine. The problem is likely in the WIN2k machine, but I'm not familiar enough with that OS. How do you find the Network parameters equivalent to My Computer/Control Panel/Network when using a WIN98 pc??

Thanks for any help.
Dave

right click on my computer and go to propeties

you might try setting the proxy server (in IE on the 2k box) either as the ip address of the dns server of the isp or the local ip of the win98 computer

are you sure that the configuration is correct?
my network places - lan -properties - tcp/ip - properties: the ip-adress of the w98 must be defined as default gateway, and you have to define a dns-server
