Ok i have a t23 laptop i bought used. it has windows sp1 on it because i installed sp2 and i got the blue screen of death so i uninstalled it. the intergrated wireless worked for about 6 months on a open network. All of a sudden it stoped connecting. it would see the access point but wouldent connect. So i called ibm and they said the driver needs to be updated. so i downloaded it and it refused to update in it properties in device manager. then i decided to use a wireless card adapter which would not work either. Now im at a standstill. Any good advice?

Start removing the updates one at a time.
And SP2 is a known problem causer for wireless connections.
Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

I never had a roblem with SP2 and wireless, but I could be a minority.
But upgrading to SP2 from SP1 without a fresh install of SP1 rarely has a good ending.
