i want to put password for my linksys router

Specs: Windows 7

cannot get acess to router to put a password with 192.168.1.1 and my default gateway showing 2002:c058:6301::c058:6301

2002:c058:6301::c058:6301 is an IPv6 address. Put that in the address bar. See if it connects.

You should enable IPv6 on computer if your network set up this way which could support IPv6. If it's incorrect setting, you should change the network adapter setting back to IPv4, after that try to access 192.168.1.1 on web browser again.

hi can u tell me how to enable ipv6 because it is showing no internet access, and there is internet access for ipv4, i also will give u more details about my network,

Those IP addresses don't look like that there is a router. What router do you have?

yes i have linksys router wap4400N and i get access to my router it shows linksys-n i use it from long time but i want to secure my internet as neighbours r using my internet and i get internet very slow.

The router isn't connected properly. If it were, you would have an internal IP address, not external.

You might have a look on this wireless network setup tutorial that includes wireless router configuration, hope able to give you more ideas to set up your network properly.

If you want to enable IPv6 on your network, your router, wireless adapter, network adapter and other network devices must be able to support IPv6, if not it won't work.

hi i tried connecting my computer locally direct to modem and and check ip address in dos vpv6 address 2002:4ade:4520::4ade:4520, default gateway 2002:c058:6301::c058:6301 and my router is linksys wap4400n it has only one eternet port so how to connect it to computer to do the wireless setup.

That's not a router, it's an access point. That might be why you're having trouble. I don't know if it can work without a router. Maybe someone else can clarify that.
