You might want to take a look on this wireless network or wired network setup tutorial, probably it's the one you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

picohat you missed the two serial cables listed in the OPs post. I suspect this is for educational purposes but wanted confirmation from the OP

fana...you do need to be a bit more specific about WHY you need to network the 2 computers....but...to attempt an answer with the current info....

You indicated: 2 PCs, 2 Routers, 1 Switch, 2 Serial cables.

Are you sure the cables are Serial? If so, why? Usually ETHERNET cables are used in networking.

Unless there is some other reason for the other equipment listed....to network 2 PCs, you really only need: 1 Router (if it has multiple ethernet ports) and 2 ethernet cables.

Only if the Router does NOT have multiple ethernet ports do you would need the 1 switch ( and would also need a 3rd Ethernet cable.

So...simply attach each PC to the ROUTER with Ethernet cables. Basically, that's it.

Or...if the router does NOT have multiple ethernet ports: Connect the Router to the Switch with 1 ethernet cable, then connect each PC to the SWITCH with ethernet cables.

Assuming you are just needing basic Windows networking, and your equipment in good working order, you should be good to go.

Other details, like sharing printers, files, etc.....is Another Issue.
