I basically have nice old beast of a desktop PC. It has no wireless capabilities and I dont want to buy a wireless dongle.
I have a Visa Laptop wireless connected to the internet.I have tried and failed many times.
Now im not the most genious person when it comes to Networking, well when it comes to creating a network anyways.I may be wrong, but i though your everyday Ethernet cable does the trick as it can connect to a hub and be fine, so i dont see why it cant do this.
But to sum up, i would love it if my Beast of a desktop pc could connect (via wire) to my laptop so my PC can use the internet from my Wireless connection that my Laptop uses
I think that has been explained simply.
Cheers for any responses guys.
A solution would truely make me happy!!
Ben :)

Just connect network cable from laptop to desktop PC, after that enable Internet connection sharing on laptop to share Internet connection. Hope this helps.

You would need a Crossover LAN cable. do u have that cable? instead of using internet connection sharing try using AnalogX Proxy server. its very easy to setup and use.

You need to buy either a crossover cable to replace the straight (Patch) cable you have or you can get a crossover adaptor that goes on one end of your existing cable.
