You don't need any cds or disks to setup the wireless.
You may need to go to linksys site and download the manual for your model if you no longer have it. It has the step by step to setup.

Do you remember what encryption level and key you used for setting up the wireless?

Do you still have the routers manual? If not have you downloaded it as suggested?

go to a cmd prompt and type ipconfig
what is your gateway ip? or

You access your router via the gateway ip by putting that ip address into IE and hitting enter.

Can your boyfriend help you set this up?

Once you give me the model of linksys [there are hundreds of linksys's] I can direct you to the manuals. But someone at your end will have to follow the manual to set up the wireless on the router as well as understand how to setup the wireless adapter on your pc/laptop for it to connect wirelessly to the router.

BTW if you don't understand terms just plug them into Google.

For example "cmd prompt" would lead you here

"Ipconfig" would lead you here
