Hi I need help finding a wireless router that will work with Alltel's UTStarcom UM175 usb modem. The people at Alltel told me that I need to get a router that has a usb port and is evdo compatible. I want to plug the usb modem into the router and run the internet on 3 computers at once, they said it would work.

Why dont you just share the connection from one pc into a little 5 port hub then run cable to the other 2 machines. Or does this method not work for that type of USB modem?

I don't know if that will work or not. It needs to be wireless so that all the laptops in the house can run on it. the lady at alltel said that you just plug the usb modem into the router. Can I plug the modem into a computer and then run the other computers from it with a linksys wireless router? Is so please explain. Thank You
