I am trying to create a bootdisk for the orinoco wireless nics but im having a lot of problems. I am using ghost 6.0 and the cards are updated to the latest firmware and i have both packet drivers and ndis drivers, but i just cant seem to get it to work with any of them. I tried to use orinocos own pcmcia driver and that "seemed" to start and work just fine but when it loaded the driver for the card it self it said that the firmware was incompatible but the driver would load anyway. when i went to start a multicast session in ghost it stopped with an error code and said something about "error loading packet drivers". I would be very thankful for all ther help you possibly could give me.
Magnus

Have you tried using sysprep first?
I'm still not having luck with ghost, but do a search on sysprep, Microsoft's tool to prepare a machine for cloning.
Maybe you're having a problem with the model computer's SID.
Brian

no, i havent tried using sysprep, i dont know what that is actually. And the sids should only be an issue if i where cloning NT or win 2000 machines, i am just trying to clone Win 98n SE. Ghost works beatuiful with all other kinds of networkcards, such as 3coms and accton pcmcia cards, and when it is a desktop/tower there are no problems whatsoever, but the problem lies in the driver for the wireless network card, it doesnt seem to load the drivers as it should do and therefor ghost cannot establish contact to the multicast server. has anyone ever tried getting the wireless network cards working under dos before? All help or commments highly appreciated, Thank you , Magnus

I set up something similar just today, using the cisco aironet system, we had to use packet drivers (ndis2 not available), and also we had to do it without cardbus services. Luckily the cisco packet drivers didn't seem to require cardbus, so it was a case of telling it what slot to look in (SLOT=0 or SLOT=1 I belive). We also has to set the i/o details and memory map details in the ini file which needed to be kept in the root folder of the ghost boot image. (Otherwise a few more 's needed inserting into the autoexec.bat).
Also, turning off the 'Plug n' Play OS' setting in BIOS to somethign resembling no plug n play OS helps, cause then the BIOS takes care of handing resources out. Another crafty trick was to use a preconfigured laptop with win2k on to get the current resource settings, and copy these into the packet drivers configuration file (cscpkt.ini if I remember)I do warn you that multicasting a big image on one of these isn't a pretty sight, the boot image (20Mb) took seconds, but I left a 2Gb partition copying when I left work at 4pm and it said it was moving data at 5Mb a minute, although I belive this could be improved with some tweaking. Another problem with multicasting large amounts of data is that it's effectivly a 11Mb hub, and a poor one at that, so it's never going to be very quick, especially if the laptops are spread out.
Anyway, hope some of this is of some help, ;¬)

I have have worked with Lucent and have tweaked the packet drivers so that it boots correctly. Key files include:
WVlan42.com - Packet Driver from Orinoco
WaveCad.sys - File I recived from Orinoco, need to add command line in config.sys (device = A:\net\config.sys)
You will also need to put a packet.ini file in your root directory and modify network name and also any encription info you are using.I am able to connect to a multi cast session using these files and it pulls a valid IP address from DHCP. I can start a session and then it times out with Error code 503, and error number 19922. I'm not getting too much information on solving the 19922 error message since one of the problems is having the incorrect driver.
Let me know if you need the wavecad.sys file or a copy of my boot disk.

I have been trying to setup a cloning system based on the Symantec Ghost 2002 software and using BreezeCom wireless technology. BreezeCom only supply a DOSODI driver for the card and other drivers fro Windows. When i create a boot disk with the Ghost software, i cannot boot up because i need an NDIS driver for it to work on an NT network, as we are not using Novell.
BreezeCom do not supply an NDIS driver only the DOSODI and i gather that i need ODINSUP to make this work, however BreezeCom cannot supply one. Any suggestions?
