I have to run ipconfig /release and /renew on every startup

Specs: Windows 7
Every computer in the home has the same problem. When we either restart the computer or wake the computer up we have to run ipconfig /release and /renew to get internet. We have a modem from Comcast that is connected to a wireless modem. I have tried three different modems and all have the same problem. We have both windows 7 and Vista. The problem exists for both wireless, as well as for the computer connected directly to the wireless modem. The wireless modem is sett for Dynamic IP.

You have a wireless router not a modem FYI

I would suspect its the pcs power management that is the issue. Its a known issue that when the network interface setting is for windows managed windows shuts the nic down. Most times it takes a reboot to get it back live again.

Go to the nics properties via lan connections and then to the power tab. Disable power management on the wired and wireless nics.
